Solo Text in Summer '09

I am spending a good part of the summer on the Canadian Fringe Theatre Festival circuit performing my solo show Crown Hill Cemetery.  I am fascinated by language and how personal essay text and solo performance text are so closely related and yet one is meant to be read and the other meant to be heard/seen.  I am looking forward to blogging about my own experience and seeing other solo shows and talking with other solo artists to get their opinion on what makes text on the page vs text on the stage.

Tonight is opening night of Crown Hill Cemetery at the Toronto Fringe Festival!  I have the ever popular time slot of 11:00 p.m. on a Thursday night - My host Steven will attend as will my director Jocelyn Sawyer who made a special trip here to see the opening.  (Thanks JS!)  At least there will be two folks in the audience!!  YAY!
